The day was perfect for lounging in the backyard with a stack of magazines and a cold drink to sip. I popped freckles in the sunshine and actually got a bit of a burn on one arm. I futzed about with my new phone....mildly frustrating going from a blackberry to an iphone, but I am happy to report, the crisis is over. Going from a keyboard to touch screen required patience on my part and sipping that cold drink I mentioned.
Pimm's No.1 is a liqueur made of gin and herbs. There are many variations of the Pimm's Cup, a refreshing drink that combines the liqueur with soda and fruit. I made it as suggested on the bottle's label. I have had it with ginger ale, but I much prefer it with carbonated lemonade. The citrus flavour shouts out summer sipping!
1 measure Pimm's No.1
3 measures carbonated lemonade
plenty of ice
lemon slice, orange slice and English cucumber spear for garnish
Fill a tall glass with ice. Top with the Pimm's and lemonade. Garnish with lemon and orange slices. Add cucumber spear. Enjoy!
